Feng Shui: Myth or Truth One Feng Shui practitioner (Alice) was helping her sister (Tracy) sell her house. Tracy's agent had advised her to lower the price since it was high, home sales were slow, and the place had been on the market for many months. He felt that it would take another six months to a year to sell her home at that asking price. Alice analyzed the house and found that the southwest corner of the house was the travel position for her sister. This travel position was also said to help with the sale of a house. To activate this corner, Alice placed a statue of running horses (facing into the house) in the corner. In less than a week the house was sold and at the original high asking price! Later on Alice was low on funds but really wanted to travel so placed a horse in her personal travel position. A couple months later she and her husband went to visit her husband's family near Chicago for Christmas. For the trip back to San Diego, they volunteered to be bumped for a several hour delay. In return they were told they would each receive a $500 voucher for their trouble and fly first class back to San Diego. Later Alice overheard a man behind her telling his friend how great it was to receive a voucher for $1000 for getting bumped. Alice was annoyed that they only got $500. But she then pulled out the voucher and begrudgingly looked at it. Much to her surprise it was for $1000 per person. Because of this gift they were able to travel the next year to Vienna and Salzburg, with most of their travel expenses covered! (Free airline vouchers?! This certainly is almost an unheard of occurrence these days!) Feng Shui or just good luck? The Peach Flower PositionPlacing cut flowers in your peach flower position is said to bring romance. One woman from a Feng Shui class tried this immediately after returning home from class. Within 24 hours, she received a call from an ex-boyfriend she had not heard from in 5 years. InsomniaOne woman complained of insomnia. After many acupuncture treatments, the acupuncturist (Lucy), also a Feng Shui practitioner, asked the woman (Betty) about the layout of her bedroom. Lucy discovered that Alice's bedroom was located in the dragon side of the house, directly above her office. Though the guest bedroom had no attached bathroom, Alice begrudging moved into the guest bedroom. Her insomnia immediately went away. Apparently there was too much activity emanating from the office below. Power of suggestion, coincidence, or Feng Shui? Well that's the end of my storytelling on Feng Shui. From around the world, in history, to my own life, I'm sure you've heard many stories as well. So what do you think: Is Feng Shui real? The true test will be to try it in your life!
