Playing the Global Game

Strategic approach: There are many approaches to strategy development and implementation. However there is no such thing as a consummate approach to strategy development and implementation. Just a consummate strategist who can adapt to many different scenarios.

Some strategists prefer working with one game plan with multiple options while some people prefer multiple game plans.

Regardless of the approach, the budding strategist must always be aware of the following four points:

1. Always know when to look ahead and when to focus on the current task
2. Develop options and continuously revise them based on the changing conditions
3. Know your targeted area well
4. Focus on developing and then achieving a progressive sequence of small advantages

Remember, "… the 'sine qua non' is what counts at the end."
