Keep in mind that Feng Shui is not an exact science so many factors come into play when you change your environment. Each person is different so the trick is to change things one at a time and see what happens (and be patient). Also, use your creativity when applying the principles as Mr Lee did in Singapore.

Feng Shui for Sleep Bedroom Feng Shui

How are you sleeping? If not so well, consider the following:

  1. Are you sleeping with your feet facing towards a door? If so, change your bed position immediately. This is known as the 'coffin position' because traditionally, when a casket is brought into a home for the last time, the head faces the door. (Also we cannot see who is coming into our bedroom.)
  2. Do you have an en-suite bathroom? If so, short of redesigning your home the best you can do is to have the door closed at all times. Also, make sure the bathroom is kept clean.
  3. Do you have a mirror in your bedroom? This is only a problem if the mirror faces your bed and you can see your face and upper body in the reflection. If the mirror looks sideways onto your bed it is not a problem. If you can not move the mirror, place a cloth over it when you sleep. This does not just apply to mirrors, anything reflective like a photo, painting, computer screen or metal surface.
What's the belief behind this superstition? Some believe that when asleep your soul leaves your body, it gets startled when the first thing it sees is a reflection of itself. This is said to cause nightmares and restless sleep. Another belief is that during sleep your body recharges itself with fresh Ch'i and the negative Ch'i leaves your body. So if there is a mirror facing you the negative Ch'i cannot leave you.
More Feng Shui Trivia with Famous People

Abe Lincoln

Theatre boxes, though expensive, are said to be bad because the box does not face the stage directly, thus cutting off half of your phoenix aspect. (In Feng Shui terms, that's a bad thing.) This allows energy currents to enter abruptly through the rear door, leaving occupants vulnerable. Abraham Lincoln's assassination could be a classic case of what bad Feng Shui can do to you!

Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee supposedly placed Ba Gua symbols outside his windows to ward away the evil spirits. Though a superstitious man, the story goes that he still decided to take the nickname of Hsiao Loong (Little Dragon), knowingly offending the nine dragons of Kowloon. Shortly after his protective Ba Gua fell during a typhoon, he mysteriously died.
