What can you expect from the Year of the Boar (year 4705 in the Chinese lunar calendar)? Chinese fortunetellers predict that events during the Year of the Boar will be an excellent year for business and people will feel contentment, security, and abundance. Despite these favorable predictions, like the Boar we will hesitate, doubt, and question our own abilities when opportunity knocks.

This year's boar is ruled by the element fire. Fire qualities include reason, expressiveness, spirituality, passion, aggressiveness, leadership, and insight.

If you are in the San Diego area in February, make sure you visit the Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Faire February 24 through 25. Visit the Children's cultural exhibit where your child can make a traditional Chinese lantern and learn the Chinese zodiac. All children are encouraged to participate in our annual lantern parade.
